FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How can therapy help?
Therapy can be incredibly beneficial in many ways. It provides a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, empowering you to take control of your life. Through this process, you can gain insight into your challenges, develop coping strategies, and learn new skills to navigate life's difficulties more effectively. Therapy can also help improve communication, enhance self-esteem, and promote personal growth and resilience, motivating you to strive for continuous improvement. Ultimately, it offers a valuable opportunity for self-discovery and positive change, fueling your personal growth journey.
How long will I need to participate in therapy before I feel better?
Each person's experience in therapy is unique, making it difficult to predict exactly when you'll start feeling better. Your specific goals, the nature of your concerns, and your level of engagement all contribute to this timeline. However, it's important to remember that many clients begin to notice positive changes within a few sessions, offering a glimmer of hope and optimism. For others, achieving their desired outcomes may require longer-term support. I will work collaboratively with you to develop a personalized treatment plan and regularly assess your progress, guiding you towards a brighter future.
What can I expect to happen in a therapy session?
In a therapy session, you can expect a confidential and non-judgmental space where you can openly discuss your concerns and experiences. I will listen attentively, offer empathy and support, and collaborate with you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals. Depending on your needs, sessions may involve various therapeutic techniques such as talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness exercises, or role-playing. Importantly, each session is tailored to your unique needs and preferences, ensuring that your specific challenges are addressed. The ultimate goal is to help you achieve great insight, resilience, and well-being.
May I include family members in my therapy sessions?
Absolutely! Including family members in therapy can be highly beneficial, especially when addressing issues that impact the family dynamic or relationships. Family therapy provides a supportive environment where all members can express their thoughts and feelings, improve communication, and work together toward resolution. I can help facilitate constructive conversations, identify patterns of interaction, and develop strategies for fostering healthier relationships within the family unit. Whether it's couple therapy, parent-child counseling, or involving other family members, the decision to include family members in therapy sessions is ultimately in your hands, empowering you to align therapy with your preference and therapeutic goals.
How much do you charge?
My full fee is $85 for a 50-minute individual session. Family and couple sessions range from $100-$125 per session.
